Gangnam District Hosts Special French Course in Collaboration with the French Embassy
Gangnam District recently offered residents a unique opportunity to learn about French language and culture through a special course at the Nonhyeon Global Lifelong Learning Center. This program, organized in collaboration with the French Embassy’s Language Center, provided participants with not only French language instruction but also an immersive experience in French end-of-year traditions and celebrations.
The course was led by French language education expert and Ajou University professor Anne-Cécile Faye, who introduced participants to France’s festive traditions, including Christmas markets, Saint Nicholas Day, and Epiphany celebrations. The session also featured a tasting experience where participants enjoyed traditional French holiday desserts and drinks, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of French culture beyond the language.
One participant shared their excitement, saying, “I originally attended a wine course, but I became interested in French culture, so I signed up for this program. I’m grateful that the Lifelong Learning Center offers such unique and enriching courses.”
Gangnam District plans to expand its offerings in French language and cultural education, providing more opportunities for residents to explore French traditions and improve their language skills. This program is a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn French while experiencing authentic cultural elements.
